Symptoms of Iron Deficiency Anemia

Anemia

It’s no secret that being overweight or having excess red blood cells is not good for you! In fact, even though the majority of people think otherwise, it’s really not a wise move as it can cause quite serious complications like hypochorism! If your body doesn’t have enough hemoglobin, your tissues and muscles won’t get enough oxygen to be able to work effectively. This leads to a condition called anemia.

Although there are various types of anemia, iron deficiency anemia is the most common type. Many people don’t realize this just because they aren’t looking. However, most people who have been experiencing anemic symptoms have realized that it might be due to iron depletion in their bodies. So if you feel yourself feeling this way, you may need to take some iron supplements or eat certain foods. And if you’re someone with this condition, here is everything you need to know about it.

1) High Levels Of Red Blood Cells In Your Body. People who do get the urge to drink alcohol often go to the nearest bar or restaurant for entertainment. But when they have too much red blood cells, they end up getting several drinks within a short time too. And with this, there could be severe consequences for them. For example, if you drink a few glasses of wine in one night, your red cells will decrease by 50% which could lead to blood clots. The same case could be observed with beer drinking a few times in a week, and then the red cells will reduce by 40% which can make you get heart disease.

2) Low Levels Of Hemoglobin (Hb).  A person whose level of Hb is lower than 7.5g/dL will definitely experience fatigue within the first day of not having enough iron in his/her body. Due to this deficiency in iron, many young children who suffer from this condition usually face major problems like low immunity, loss in focus, sleep disturbance and poor growth. Also, this condition can have severe repercussions when it comes to developing any form of mental illness.

3) Vitamin B12 is also essential for normal functioning of the body. Unfortunately, it only has to have 10-20 IU daily in order to function properly. With this, your liver cannot produce as much iron as necessary. This is why you only need to take 20 IU daily to reach full absorption.

4) When you get anemia, your body becomes vulnerable to any sort of damage.   Because your red cells could be reduced, you’d lose more iron than what you should produce in your body. This could result in severe medical issues like bleeding disorders, chest pain, stomach upset, dizziness and nausea. These are all signs that indicate that you might be suffering iron deficiency.

5) Increased Risk Of Sudden Death. Although getting too many red cells could be harmless, they can increase your risk of dying within the next two to three months. It’s because these red cells can be reduced through iron supplements and eating foods with high amounts of vitamin C in them as well. Therefore, whenever you find that you want to drink a bottle of red wine, try choosing products with added vitamin C.

6) Irregular heartbeat. As mentioned earlier, your blood cells can get reduced through iron deficiency, which causes irregular heartbeats. Thus, by reducing the number of red cells in your bloodstream, you may end up getting less blood to clot properly which can potentially lead to sudden death.

7) Heart Attack Symptoms. Also, there is a higher chance to develop another case of coronary artery diseases. People with low levels of vitamin K in their bodies, on the other hand, are at a heightened risk of contracting cardiovascular diseases. Having too many red cells definitely leaves you with high chances of heart attack attacks.

8) Fatigue, headache, diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. All of these conditions share something in common. They all suggest that your levels of red cells are quite low in comparison to what should be there in your body. This is a warning sign that you should have enough iron in your body or else your body could be suffering from other health symptoms too.

9) Gaining muscle mass. You have seen how heavy your upper body looks if you haven’t got enough red cells in it. This occurs when you have a lot of iron in your body. Not only it looks bulky but even your bones can become weak in the long run. Furthermore, there are two different kinds of muscle growth. The first one is the contraction muscle growth. This means you can gain muscle without doing any exercise at all. On the other hand, when your red cells reduce by too much, your body would stop growing due to lack of enough nutrients. Hence, you wouldn’t have the privilege of using any muscles.

10) Muscle cramps. We are aware of how painful muscle weakness can be, especially when we have low amounts of red cells and vitamin D, as it can contribute to cramps which happen due to lack of oxygen. With low numbers of red cells, your upper body feels tight. Additionally, you could get cramps in the head whenever you sit down. This can occur due to not having enough blood in your body.

11) Joint pains, swelling and soreness in feet. There’s so many things left out. One thing you probably didn’t think about could be arthritis. That’s because it isn’t always caused by lack of red cells in our body. Instead, it comes from not having enough vitamins that help with joint movements.

12) Weight Loss Issues. Just like losing those extra pounds in the gym, the problem occurs when you have too little red cells in your body. This happens whenever you don’t consume enough calorie-rich foods that help boost your body’s energy by removing glucose into your bloodstream. Not only this but it also contributes to water retention from the fluids you drink without realizing it and ends up leading to your digestive system taking longer to digest. And with this, our kidneys never don’t meet your body’s needs.

13) Weakness In Bones. Osteoporosis happens when you have too much iron in your body. Not only is this dangerous but it can weaken your bones as well. Though this could be avoided through consuming regular meals but if you don’t take care of your skeletal system, you’ll eventually see a decreased rate at which platelets get broken down into new ones.

14) Depression, Anxiety, Fears & Hopes. Yes, these feelings are real. People who are deficient in iron could have depression, anxiety, fear and hopes which may arise due to a reduction in oxygen in your blood. Not only that, but they may experience insomnia. Moreover, being overly optimistic about anything could give rise to mental illnesses like schizophrenia.
